The Malaysian
government has decided to re-evaluate the fees paid by Bangladeshi workers and
other migrants who work on farms and factories in Malaysia and their contracts
signed at work.

Savanna, the country's human resources minister, said in a statement on
Monday.
Last week, the US
State Department released its annual report on global human trafficking. The
report, titled Trafficking in Persons (TIP), ranked Malaysia as "Tier
Three".
According to the
TIP report, the rate of torture of migrant workers in Malaysia has risen at an
alarming rate in recent years.
It is also said
that the workplace authorities do not follow any rules in collecting
recruitment fees from the expatriate workers, they are being forced to work
without paying proper wages and many employers are not following the terms of
the contract signed with the workers at the time of recruitment.
