Tired US troops are returning home after nearly 20 years of fighting in Afghanistan. Taliban fighters are advancing on Kabul at breakneck speed again. In this situation, India is in danger.
According to local Indian media reports, New Delhi is going to bring back the citizens from Afghanistan.
In addition to the embassy in Kabul, India has consulates in four Afghan cities: Kandahar, Mazar-i-Sharif, Jalalabad and Hairat, according to ANI. India has already closed its consulate in Jalalabad and Hairat for fear of a Taliban attack. This time consulates are being closed in the other two cities.
On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda hijacked four planes and carried out a suicide attack on the Twin Towers in New York. Following the attack, former US President George W. Bush launched the war in Afghanistan in 2001. The United States joined forces with Afghan militias to oust the Taliban government from Kabul.
